The Operations Committee, made up of Jeri Thorne, Dan Fleming, Larry Kistler, Richard (***) Edwards, Rob Maher and Barry Hutchison, met in May and discussed a number of issues concerning the pool. It was proposed to make the pool a tobacco free facility. Currently the pool has designated areas for smokers. It was agreed that for this summer we would enforce the smoking areas and take the proposal to the full Board to make the changes for next summer if the Board agreed.
There was a long discussion about the need for more shade around the pool area, in addition more furniture is needed. The Committee agreed that we need to make sure that next years budget has furniture and other items in it.
With the pool open for just one week there were no other issues for the committee to discuss so the committee adjourned. The next meeting of the operations committee is Wednesday June 10th at the pool. All are invited.
